K-9 Unit

The West Grey Police Service K-9 Team Senior Constable John Noble and his partner “Tye” graduated on June 28, 2007 after an extensive 13 week training program in Waterloo and continue to undergo training on a regular basis.

The unit commenced their duties immediately after graduation and have an exemplary success rate.

The West Grey Police service recognized the need for a Police Service Dog and immediately began planning for it. The unit is a valuable resource which can be utilized in a number of areas such as:

  • Locating lost or missing persons
  • Suspect Location and Apprehension
  • Property Recovery
  • Search Warrants
  • Building Searches
  • Locating persons who have walked away from accident scenes
  • Community Service

The K-9 Unit is a very expensive endeavour that operates solely on financial support from the community and as such we are constantly looking for donations to keep this program going. Donations are tax-deductible.
